Yorkshire Coast Cricket Round Up

It's the penultimate weekend of the cricket season with all our local sides in action.

Driffield Town lost a close low-scorer against top 3 rivals York on Saturday in Yorkshire Premier North.

After asking York to bat first, Driff skittled their visitors for 171 in the 48th over.

Elliot Hatton impressive with 5 for 31.

Town started their reply strongly and were 75/1 at one stage, with opener Jack Redshaw making 49.

However, they were soon 79/5 and collapsed to lose by 19 runs, with seven overs left of their innings.

Folkton & Flixton are set for relegation from Premier 2 after a seven-wicket defeat to Acomb.

The villagers were put in to bat and bowled out for just 144 in the 42nd over.

Harry Walmsley top-scored with 39 not out.

Acomb then eased to victory in the 29th over, despite Thomas Gormley's 2/23.

Bridlington were also on the losing side, in the same division, against Stamford Bridge.

Bridge made 243/5 from their 50 overs with Calum Hatton and Jamie Boynton taking two wickets each.

Brid were then were skittled for 211 in the 48th over.

Jordan Baker made 76 and Hatton 50, with the hosts going from 144/2 to 150/4 when the pair departed.

In Championship East, Malton & Old Malton in fourth lead the local mini league despite a narrow lose at South Holderness.

The home side chose to bat first and made 230/7 from their 50 overs. Youngster Ferdi Osborne took 4/52.

The visitors were then rolled over for 209 in the 46th over despite skipper Shaun Harland's sparkling 81 and Adam Spaven's battling 51 not out.

Pickering were thumped at home by Welton.

The hosts made just 95 at Mill Lane, with Welton getting home by eight wickets in the 17th over.

Sutton-on-Hull chose to bat first at North Marine Road against Scarborough.

However, they found Hayden Williamson in irresistible form, he took 4/53 with two wickets each for Archie Hammond and Kieran Rutter.

Sutton were bowled out for just 153 and Boro got home by four wickets with Prince Bedi ending 59 not out, there were nearly 20 overs to spare.

Driffield 2nds beat Beverley's second string by 138 runs.

Whitby hammered Marton in North Yorkshire South Durham Division Two at the Turnbull Ground.

The visitors were skittled for 150 inside 30 overs with Tom Steyert taking 4/67 and Chris Knight 2/11.

Whitby reached their target in the 20th over with Theo Clarke smashing 75 off 55 balls and Steyert adding 50 off 48 for a three-wicket win.
