13-49 Lois Ivan is back on service today after a week in dry dock.
Whitby’s Launch A Memory Shannon Class Lifeboat, Lois Ivan, has been having some well deserved TLC this week.
She has been in the dry dock at the local boatyard Parkol Marine where her hull has been cleaned, the water jets serviced, and her paint work given a coat of polish.
Whilst this was going on on the outside, two engineers were installing an upgraded onboard firefighting system on the inside - to keep the volunteer crews safe in the event of a fire onboard.
Relief RNLI Lifeboat 13-26 has been on station in Whitby this week to allow the lifesaving service to continue while the work was carried out.
