North Yorkshire Police are warning that fake emails have been sent to a number of people over the last 24 hours.
Officers are warning that the phishing email has been landing in many people's inboxes in the last 24 hours.
The email is designed to appear as if it is from the NHS and asks the recipient to follow a link to book their vaccination which involves filling out extensive personal details.
Officers have shared images of the fake emails.
The advice from the police is that If you receive an email like this, you should not click on any links and should delete it straight away.
Jo Boutflower from North Yorkshire Trading Standards says people should not enter any details about their bank accounts.
The NHS say people will be contacted in a variety of way when being invited for vaccination.
- If you're invited to have your vaccination at a larger vaccination centre or at a pharmacy, you'll get a letter.
- If you're invited to have your vaccination at a local centre such as a hospital or GP surgery, you'll usually get a text or email. You may sometimes get a letter.
But they say there are are a number of things the NHS will never ask you for including..
- your bank account or card details
- your pin or banking password
- copies of personal documents to prove your identity such as your passport, driving licence, bills or pay slips
The NHS are also reminding the public that The COVID-19 vaccine is free of charge on the NHS.

"Scammers are relentless in their quest to try and trick people out of their money so let's make sure they are unsuccessful by telling as many people about this new scam as possible."
