An arrest has been made by Armed Response Officers after they spotted a vehicle believed to be linked to a disqualified driver and wanted man on their routine patrols in the area.
Upon being approached by officers, the driver reportedly rammed the police vehicle before fleeing the scene and travelling the wrong way down the A63 towards Hedon at around 3.30am on Wednesday, 19 August 2026. No officers were injured as a result.
There Was then a further sighting of the same vehicle at around 4.15pm yesterday afternoon (Thursday, 20 August 2026) on Hessle Road in Hull.
The vehicle was stopped a short time later near to Humberside Airport, and the driver, a 29-year-old man, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of failing to stop when requested by officers, dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified, and, after also failing a road side drugs wipe, was further arrested for drug driving.
The man has since been released on conditional bail pending further investigation.
