A new study is looking at the Health Needs of the Yorkshire Coast.
The Coastal Health Needs Assessment is being carried out to help identify what measures could improve health outcomes for people living in coastal communities.
Public Health Officer - Ruth Dyble - says it's not just about looking at hospital and GP provision.
The health needs assessment will look at how areas like housing, transport and employment affect local people's health outcomes.
A survey being carried out by North Yorkshire Council Public Health Officers is aiming to gather information to inform policy decisions.
Ruth Dyble says it will look at a number of issues, including how to ensure younger people don't move away from the coast.
Public Health Officer, Helen Richardson, says the work dovetails with ongoing work on a Healthy Ageing Strategy which has involved talking to people in Filey about their health needs.
