Boro made it four in a row and a second win in four days over Darlington, on Saturday.
An otherwise drab encounter saw Harry Green's second-half strike seal a 1-0 win for the Seadogs.
An injury to one of the assistant referees meant George Roberts, a Scarborough official who was in the crowd, made an emergency appearance on the line.
The victory takes Boro in the National North top five.
Manager Jono Greening told SAFC TV he was delighted with his side's display particularly after the break:
Boro are back in action next Saturday when fourth-placed Hereford visit The Flamingo Land Stadium.
