Pickering Town Back To Winning Ways

The Pikes ended a five-match winless run with victory on Tuesday night.

Tony Hackworth's men picked up a 2-0 victory over nearby Beverley Town in midweek.

After starting the season with an 11-match unbeaten run, Pikes have been without a win in five, crashing out of the FA Cup and FA Vase in the process.

Souleymane Coulibaly broke the deadlock on 7 minutes after good work from Joe Wood.

A goalkeeping error then led to Nathan Dyer firing home the winner, early in the second half.

The visitors struck the Pickering crossbar twice in close succession late on.

The 2-0 victory takes the Pikes back up to seventh in Northern Counties East Premier.

They trail leaders Tadcaster Albion by eight points but hold three games in hand, the win also ended Beverley's own 11-match unbeaten run.
