Scarborough's Traditional pancake Day Races return to the town for the first time in two years today.
Local businesses will compete in a fancy dress obstacle course race, while flipping their pancakes. They will be judged on their speed, their costumes and the amount of pancake they manage to keep in their frying pans.
The racing on Aberdeen walk will get underway just after midday in front of the This is the Coast Roadshow Stage.
The event is being staged by Scarborough Borough Council with the obstacle course being devised by Everyone Active.
Borough Mayor Eric Broadbent will ring the ceremonial Pancake Day Bell at midday to mark the start of the event.
Councillor Broadbent says it's great to have the event back on.
Racing will take place over a number of heats with the eventual winners walking away with the coveted golden frying pan.
At the end of the racing the traditional Shrove Tuesday skipping will be taking place on the foreshore, no one really knows how that tradition started, but Borough Mayor - Eric Broadbent - has a favourite theory.
