Age UK Scarborough and District have appointed Neil Bradbury as its new CEO.
Neil, is an experienced charity Chief Executive, more recently managing Citizens Advice County Durham and rare disease charity AGSD as well as being the Chair of the charity Impact Family Services.
Neil replaces outgoing CEO Julie Macey-Hewitt, who took the charity forward over the past three years, providing all kinds of services from helping older people into new careers to providing hot meals for the needy to offering a jigsaw exchange.
Welcoming Neil, chair of trustees Steve Trafford said,
“Julie leaves with our best wishes and was instrumental in expanding the range of services Age UK Scarborough and District offers and her work on leading the charity through the Covid period.”
Neil commented,
“I’ve been in the office for three weeks and I’ve been bowled over by the welcome from our clients and volunteers. The charity is doing essential work in so many areas of life in the local area, whether it’s hot meals to isolated people, supporting veterans or helping people apply for the benefits they are entitled to and so much more. I am here to help the charity move forwards and do even more for the people of Scarborough, Filey, Whitby and Ryedale.
If anyone is interested in helping the older people of the area and getting a real sense of achievement as a volunteer, I would encourage them to ring our team on 01723 379058”
