Four Bridlington venues have obtained licences to seat customers outside.
The Bridlington bars have applied for and received new pavement licences for outdoor ‘al fresco’ style seating areas.
East Riding Council records show a total of 11 applications had been lodged in the county, by local venues, for pavement licences.
Nine of the applications have been granted, with two others pending.
3 B’s on Marshall Avenue was successful with two venues on King Street- Bridbrew and Taproom and The Dog House- also granted licences. Bridlington Spa was the fourth in the town to be given the green light.
New pavement licences were introduced last July under the Business and Planning Act in part to help venues reeling from the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
They allow licensed venues to put tables and chairs on outside pavements, with councils having the option to include conditions on not obstructing roads and barring smoking.
Councils can also put expiry dates on licences, with an end date of Thursday, September 30 for those local authorities decide not to specify a duration for.
The act also temporarily changed licensing rules to allow venues to sell alcohol for off premises consumption before 11pm.
