Reports suggest a lightning storm on Sunday evening ignited buildings in a field at Kirby Misperton.
The village in the Vale of Pickering was hit by heavy thunder like much of the area from around 7pm.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue say officers remain on the scene of a blaze at a farm near Flamingo Land.
Fire crews responded to two barns on fire at Kirkby Misperton, one of the barns was empty the other had straw in it.
Officers say 4 hose reel jets were used to extinguish the fire.
