Bridlington's rugby union stars edged out their Scarborough rivals on Saturday.
Brid are still fifth in North East 2 but have cut the gap to their now-third-placed Yorkshire Coast rivals to just five points.
Bridlington won 26-24 at Duke's Park to halt a poor run of form.
The defeat ends a resurgent Scarborough's run of wins that took them as high as second spot.
Elsewhere, Whitby are sixth in Durham & Northumberland 2, after losing 29-10 on their longest trip of the season, to Ashington.
