Kristina Batalina, of Bridlington RNLI, has qualified as a Tier 1 D-Class Lifeboat crew member.
It happened on Monday night and she was quickly thrown into her duties.
Bridlington Lifeboat have paid tribute to their newest member.
A statement from the RNLI said:
'Congratulations to RNLI volunteer Kristina Batalina who passed out as a Tier 1 D-Class Lifeboat crew which included Anchoring, veering down, towing and radio operations.
Within minutes of the boat being recovered onto the beach last night, she didn’t have long to wait to go on her first operational service call.
The volunteer crew went to the assistance of a person in the water.
