North Yorkshire Council has announced a road restriction on the A171 near Hawsker for essential highway maintenance.
Motorists travelling on the A171 between Scarborough and Whitby are being advised to allow for essential highway maintenance this week.
North Yorkshire Council has issued a notification to road users detailing the works, which are taking place in the Robin Hood's Bay area.
The affected stretch of the A171 is located at Fern Farm. The council has specified that the restriction impacts the route from Summerfield Lane to Fern Farm, and specifically the section of the A171 between its junction for Raw and Manor House Farm.
The essential highway maintenance commenced on Monday are due to be in pace until Friday 17th April.
The councils traffic order says:
No vehicle shall use Summerfield Lane to Fern Farm, Hawsker (A171 between its junction for Raw and Manor House Farm) for a temporary period (subject to access to premises) from 13th April 2026 until 17th April 2026 because of essential highway maintenance work.
The closure period will only apply as indicated by the placing of traffic signs and a local alternative route will also be signed on site where appropriate.
