Yorkshire Coast Cricket Results Round-Up

It was a full programme of cricket action for Scarborough, Bridlington, Whitby and the rest of our local sides on Saturday.

In Yorkshire Premier North, Driffield Town were put in to bat by visitors Harrogate.

However, they were quickly bowled out for just 140, in the 43rd over, with Elliot Hatton top-scoring on 27.

Harrogate made it to their target with five wickets down in the 28th over despite James Anson's 3/49.

Bridlington stay top of Premier 2 after a fifth win out of five.

Choosing to field first, Brid restricted hosts Fairburn, from Knottingley, to 206/8, from their 50 overs, with Calum Hatton taking 3/48 and two wickets each for Russell and Rick Robinson. 

Will Norman came agonisingly close to a half century with 49 as Brid got home with six wickets and more than 8 overs remaining.

Folkton & Flixton remain bottom of the division after another defeat, this time at home to Easingwold.

The villagers were asked to bat first but were bowled out for 194 in the final over, despite Will Hutchinson's 77.

Easingwold then reached their target, with five overs and four wickets remaining.

Pickering are the new leaders of Championship East, after a dramatic victory at Goole.

Goole were put in and made 196/8 from 50 overs with Kieran Bowes taking 3/45 and Joe Harland 2/23.

Ryan Taylor then led by the way with 34 as the visitors scraped home by two wickets.

Elsewhere, Scarborough enjoyed a win of their own, at Pocklington.

After putting Pock in, Boro raced through their hosts mainly thanks to Tom Bussey's 4/30 and Sam Carver's 3/27.

Brad Milburn then steered Scarborough home with an unbeaten 55 as they won by seven wickets with more than 16 overs to spare.

Malton & Old Malton won by the same margin at Beverley 2nds.

David Brannan's 3/11 helped restrict the home side to 211/9 from 50 overs.

Shaun Harland fired 91 and skipper Charlie Allott 56 as Malton got hone with ten overs left.

Whitby climbed out of the bottom two in North Yorkshire South Durham's second division.

Tom Steyert took 5/22 and Chris Knight 4/45 as visitors Norton were routed for just 109 in the 38th over.

Whitby then eased to an eight-wicket victory, inside 20 overs, with Knight making 33.
