Pickering lost just two wickets as victory was secured in the 30th over. Andrew Sharman was 53 not out with Archie Welford unbeaten on 43 alongside him, at the end.
Kieran Geyle took 6/66 but Yapham still scored 243/8 against Filey.
Geyle then smashed an unbeaten 105, with skipper David Brannan making 67 not out as Filey got home with just four wickets down and rise to third in the table.
Whitby remain at the foot of North Yorkshire South Durham Division One.
