A post COVID spending spree could benefit the Yorkshire Coast.
That's the view of Scarborough and Whitby MP Robert Goodwill who says there is latent demand stored up in peoples bank accounts after an increase in the amount households been saving over the last 12 months
Mr Goodwill thinks businesses will benefit from that.
Figures released this week show that as a nation we've been spending less but saving more since the start of the COVID pandemic.
The UK's savings ratio was 16 percent last year the highest since 1963.
Scarborough and Whitby MP, Robert Goodwill says there's a lot of cash waiting to be spent.
