A fallen telegraph wire required firefighters to intervene in Scarborough on Friday evening.
The incident occurred on Woodland Grove, in the town, around 7.20pm.
Officers from Scarborough were mobilised to the telegraph wire, which had fallen across a road.
The police were already in attendance.
No action was taken and no-one was hurt.
Details were passed on to BT for repair.
