It's been a big week for Whitby Sports Personalities.
In Cricket, Adam Lyth scored 183 for Yorkshire at Scarborough and signed a new 3 year deal with the county.
In Football, Beth Mead, who went to school in Whitby, scored a hat-trick for England at Euro 2022.

Adam Lyth hit 183 off 306 balls in Yorkshire's first innings against Surrey at North Marine Road this week it was his highest score County Championship home fixture. Lyth partnered with Jonny Tattersall to compelte a stand of 305 for the sixth wicket, Yorkshire’s highest ever partnership for that wicket in first-class cricket, beating the previous record of 296 held between Lyth and Adil Rashid against Lancashire at Old Trafford in 2014.
Beth Meade scored a hat-trick for England as they demolished Norway 8-0 in the Euro's on Tuesday. It's the second time this year Mead has scored a hat-trick for England. The resounding victory ensures they're into the quarter-finals regardless of the result of tonight's final group match against Northern Ireland.
Matt Hewison is Scarborough Borough Councils sports development manger - he says both Mead and Lyth are great role models for the areas youngsters.
