A third of the population of the Whitby Area have now received two doses of a COVID vaccine and two thirds have received at least one dose.
Simon Stockhill is the Clinical Director for the Whitby Coast and Moors Primary Care Network as well as a local GP, he says they are making good progress.
Nearly 10,000 people have now been 'double dosed' at the local vaccination centre at Whitby Pavilion.
Simon Stockhill says it's been a real team effort running the centre
Simon says that one of the key elements to the success of the vaccine roll out in Whitby has been the army of volunteers who have come forward to help run the centre but with the lockdown rules about to be further relaxed they now need more volunteers to come forward to help keep the vaccination effort going.
Anyone who would like to volunteer to help with the marshalling, which involves directing people, managing traffic, assisting wheelchair users and guiding patients, can contact the Sleights Surgery via email using this link HRWCCG.SandSMP-admin@nhs.net volunteers need to be aged 18 or over. The team ask they you include your telephone number in the email.
