The Blues lost 2-1 at home to Hebburn Town on Saturday in the FA Trophy.
After making two enforced changes from the 0-0 draw with Prescot, as striker Matty Tymon and defender Frankie Whelan missed out, player-boss Gary Liddle recalled fellow centre-half Alex Nelson and gave a first home start to ex-Blyth midfielder Jarrett Rivers.
The Blues fell behind on 26 minutes after a poor first half showing.
Rivers then levelled early in the second period, only to injure himself and make way for ex-Scarborough striker Jake Charles within seconds.
The Tyneside visitors won it, fifteen minutes from time, despite Charles and Layton Watts coming close late on.
Speaking to Whitby Town TV post-match, Liddle was disappointed with his side's inconsistency:
Town are back in action, next Saturday, with a trip to Ashton United in NPL Premier.
