Whitby Town FC travel to Bishop Auckland on Saturday in the first-ever Tony Lee Memorial Trophy clash.
Lee managed both clubs and is arguably Town's most-successful-ever boss.
He steered them to the second round of the FA Cup after a shock 3-2 win at then-Football-League Halifax Town in 1983. The Seasiders then lost 1-0 at Wigan when a victory would've netted a dream third round clash with West Ham United.
Town will be hoping to continue their encouraging pre-season so far, against their Northern League First Division hosts.
Nathan Haslam's men beat National North South Shields 2-1 in midweek.
