Town again put in a strong display at Lancaster City's Giant Axe.
The Blues already knocked the NPL Premier league leaders out of the FA Cup back in August after a 2-1 win.
They had their chances on Saturday, but City had the better overall.
Manager Gary Liddle again had to play and led by example to earn a clean sheet in the centre of defence.
Town earned a 0-0 draw to drop Lancaster to second and they themselves slip to 9th.
Liddle spoke to Whitby Town TV at full-time:
The Blues are back in action, next Saturday, at home to Guiseley in NPL Premier.
