The Blues have picked up another released Middlesbrough FC defender ahead of the new season.
Town manager Nathan Haslam has moved to sign 20-year-old Frankie Whelan.
The centre-half or right-back will meet up with his new team-mates when his contract expires ahead of pre-season.
Whelan joins another former Boro defender in Sam Collins, who was snapped up, last month.
