The Blues left it late on day one of the NPL Premier season, in Cumbria, on Saturday.
Town could've been forgiven for thinking it wasn't going to be their day when their coach had a mechanical issue causing a lengthy stop by the side of the A66 on route to the game, which kicked off half an hour late as a result. Then especially when Gary Liddle's men fell behind, at Workington, around the half hour mark when the ball was forced home from a corner.
However, the visitors roared back on the hour when former Scarborough midfielder Michael Woods smashed in off the underside of the crossbar.
Then a scramble in injury time was turned home by the unlikely figure of right-back Connor Smith for a 2-1 victory.

Whitby Town play their first home game of the new season, on Tuesday, when newly-promoted Sheffield side Stocksbridge visit the Towbar Express Stadium.
