Whitby Town Have Home Test

The Blues return to league action on Saturday as Lancaster City provide the opposition.

Gary Liddle's men suffered a shock 1-0 midweek defeat at minnows Great Ayton, in the North Riding Senior Cup.

Liddle made nine changes for the cup clash, but would have still expected Town, who were the competition's holders, to progress against a side four levels below them.

The Blues boss spoke to Whitby Town TV after that match:

Town confirmed the signing of former Middlesbrough goalkeeper Henry Popple on joint registration from Spennymoor of National North, on Friday.

The youngster is expected to miss out on Saturday with a wrist injury.

But defender Louis Stephenson will feature after joining on loan from Hartlepool United on Saturday morning.
