Whitby Town Edge Seven Goal Thriller

The Blues were indebted to hat-trick Stephen Walker as they won 4-3 in Nottinghamshire, on Saturday.

Walker nodded Town ahead inside three minutes and when his sublime chip doubled Town's advantage inside 5 minutes, it looked like it might be a comfortable afternoon for the Blues.

But hosts Basford United hit back on 37 minutes and levelled right at the end of the first half, from the penalty spot.

Walker saw his effort blocked, eight minutes into the second half, but Nathan Thomas, who set up Walker's opener, was on hand to slot in the loose ball for 3-2 Whitby.

However, Basford again netted with a free-kick for 3-3.

Whitby weren't to be denied though as Walker finished brilliantly again for 4-3.

The marksman, who now has 13 goals for the season, spoke to Whitby Town TV after the game:

Here's the story of the afternoon from Paul Connolly on This Is The Coast Extra:

Manager Gary Liddle also caught up with Whitby Town TV after the game:

The Blues are back in Nottinghamshire again on Tuesday when they visit Worksop Town.

It's a 7.45pm kick-off with live commentary on This Is The Coast Extra from just before.
