The Blues defeated one of the pre-season favourites Guiseley 3-1 on Tuesday night.
The Seasiders made four changes and adjusted their formation to stifle their West Yorkshire hosts.
Connor Simpson nodded home Alfie Doherty's pinpoint cross on 17 minutes.
Town then doubled their advantage as Jacob Gratton steered home his first goal for the club, just before half-time.
Skipper Danny Rowe made it 3-0, from close range, early in the second half, with his second goal in as many games.
Guiseley reduced the arrears midway through the second half, then forced a string of goal-line clearances and Shane Bland saves as Town hung on bravely.
Blues boss Nathan Haslam told Whitby Town TV it was a real battle out there:
The Blues are back on their travels, on Saturday, at another high-flying side in Merseyside outfit Marine.
