Parkol Marine will be launching their latest build this afternoon.
Yard 051 – Amanda of Ladram will be launched from Parkol's Whitby yard at around 3.30pm on Wednesday 17th March.
The Vessel is a steel hulled gill netter of round bilge, with transom stern, bulbous bow, soft nose stem and full length shelter.
She is arranged for static gear gill netting, fitted with a fishroom, and will be manned by a crew of 10 men.
Below deck is subdivided by three watertight bulkheads into: aft accommodation with steering gear, engine room, hold and forepeak.
The main deck has an amidships steel galley, mess and washroom casing.
The vessel has Net hauling positions at starboard, forward, a non-weathertight, aluminium Shelter, aluminium aft wheelhouse, and mast.
Parkol Director Sally Atkinson told Paddy@Breakfast more about the vessel.
Sally says it's taken nearly a year to build the vessel during some challenging times.
Parkol Marine has just celebrated it's 50th Birthday, it was formed by Ken Parker and John Oliver in March 1971. The business started out as a marine repair yard, further up the road from the current Whitby yard, at Spital Bridge. The company moved in to boat building in the 1990's.
