Rich Adams is Anglo American's Education Programme Specialist, he says that as well as providing educational support for local pupils it's also been able to help their teachers.
Anglo American says it's been able to use some of it's facilities and expertise to help deliver training for teachers here on the Yorkshire Coast.
Rich Adams says they've been able to save some teachers a lot of travel.
The support for teachers has been running alongside Anglo American's Achieve Programme which is being piloted at six schools, four of which are on the Yorkshire Coast.
The Achieve programme provides an immersive experience for 150 disadvantaged learners, who receive mentoring, trips and extracurricular activity. The pilot schools also receive a wider offer of support, including social and emotional learning workshops, for all year seven students and extracurricular activities for all disadvantaged year seven pupils.
