Managers at Whitby Hospital say the refurbishment has given staff and patients confidence that the facility will be in the town for the long term.
That's the view of Hospital Service Manager - Sonia Rafferty - who says with the new building now in use they are already looking at ways of expanding the services on offer.
Meanwhile patients and staff at the hospital are reporting positive experiences of the newly refurbished facilities.
Construction work at the Hospital has been going on for the last 2 years.
Sonia Raftery says it's been great to move services in to the new building and see the response from patients and staff.
