Yorkshire Water say earlier problems in the YO13, YO12, YO11 and YO17 parts of the area have been resolved.
Brompton Hall School in Bromton-On-Sawdon have confirmed they are closed this morning due to having no running water.
The school took the decision at 07:30 when they discovered they had no running water. The School reported that Yorkshire Water had told them it was part of a wider area problem.
Yorkshire Water say:
We're really sorry but customers may have low pressure or no water in the area. We're working hard to get your water back to normal as soon as possible. Once it's fixed, your water may be cloudy or discoloured - you can clear this by running your tap for a few minutes.
Yorkshire Water have told This is the Coast that supplies in the affected area were restored last night but that there may be low pressure in some of the affected areas. Their website says that the incident was resolved at 10:15 this morning.
