Filey's Town Council is to play a lead role in delivering a new vision for the town.
A "Vision for Filey" strategy is being produced in partnership with the borough and county councils.
It will deliver regeneration projects aiming to make Filey active, accessible and resilient.
The Town Council has voted to adopt the new strategy, which Councillor Mike Cockerill says will ensure local leadership of the scheme.
The Town Council voted to adopt the document at it's meeting last week.
It means that when local government reorganisation takes place at the end of next month the town council will have a lead role in shaping future projects in the town.
The Borough Council's Community regeneration manager is Matthew Jospehs, he says some of the projects contained in the vision document will require assistance from the new North Yorkshire Council when it is formed.
