Ukrainian Families Reuniting in North Yorkshire

Family members have been joining their loved ones in North Yorkshire as the Homes for Ukraine Scheme continues.

Just over 1,300 Ukrainians have now resettled in North Yorkshire as part of the Homes for Ukraine scheme.

720 of them have moved on from their original sponsor's accommodation with 172 returning to Ukraine.

Councillor David Chance is North Yorkshire Council's Executive Member for Corporate Services, he says the numbers arriving in the last quarter was under 50.

Just 49 Ukrainians arrived in North Yorkshire between April and June as part of the Homes for Ukraine scheme.

Councillor David Chance says increasingly the visitors are finding their own accommodation.
