Despite the baking conditions, Scarborough skipper Pat Roberts chose to bowl first after winning the toss, against Dunnington, on Saturday.
James Wainman grabbed two early wickets to reduce the York side to 15-2, at North Marine Road, but they recovered to 95/2 before Roberts executed a neat run-out. The visitors recovered again to 186/6, but collapsed to lose their four wickets for nine runs as Wainman finished with figures of 5 for 46 and Ben Elvidge took 3 for 51.
Chasing 196, Scarborough lost Oliver Stephenson early on but recovered to 108/2, before suffering a collapse. Fortunately for Roberts' men, Breidyn Schaper was on hand to achor the innings with an unbeaten 66, as wickets fell around him. Boro eventually got home in the second-to-last over, with just two wickets remaining.
Folkton and Flixton also won the toss and chose to bat first on a road-like surface. They smashed 302/8 from their 50 overs. Max Harland hit 72 and Harry Walmsley top-scored with 74. Connor Stephenson (30) and Will Norman (31 not out) added useful runs late on. After a strong start- opponents Malton and Old Malton were 62/1 and 127/2- as they tumbled to 163/5, the away side dropped anchor to ensure a draw with the target looking a long way off. They eventually made 253/8, as Folkton and Flixton secured a winning draw and returned to the top of the York and District Premier Division.
Bridlington remain top of Division One East, they also won the toss and chose to bat first, at Dukes Park, against Driffield Seconds. Sam Tennant was their hero, making 128 not out, from 114 balls, including five sixes. Opener Sam Wragg added 48 as Brid posted a mammoth 304/6. Driffield also had a Tennant making a century as Mark Tennant anchored their innings with 104. On 230/4 approaching the closing overs, the visitors looked comfortable, but instead stumbled to 244/8, with Tennant's departure instigating a collapse. Casey Rudd was the chief instigator with 4 for 33. Russell Robinson and Thomas Hudson took two wickets each.
Whitby's scheduled trip to Great Ayton, in North Yorkshire South Durham Division One, was called off due to Ayton's Covid contacts.
