Overrunning engineering works caused disruption to train services between Whitby and Battersby this morning with national rail warning of possible cancellations.
Trains were unable to call at Whitby, Ruswarp, Sleights, Grosmont, Egton, Glaisdale, Lealholm, Danby, Castleton Moor, Commondale and Kildale.
Network Rail said staff were on site working to rectify this issue.
Replacement road transport had been requested to run between Whitby and Battersby
Network Rail say the problem was resolved at around 07:40 and that services are returning to normal between these stations. However, trains may still be cancelled or delayed by up to 10 minutes whilst service recovers.
