Swim Safe is returning to Bridlington this Summer.
The RNLI and Swim England have teamed up to offer children free sea safety lessons.
Swim Safe is funded and delivered by the Andrew McGeown Legacy Fund. There are public sessions on offer on Bridlington South Beach. Sessions run from 12th - 16th August.
Bridlington South Beach is a popular venue for day-trippers, locals and water users alike. The Andrew McGeown Legacy Fund was set up by friends and family of Andrew (who tragically drowned in 2015), and as part of his legacy they fully fund the delivery costs of the Swim Safe programme.
Bridlington RNLI say:
"One hour sessions run all day every day and they are free. Each session is run by fully qualified lifeguards. Swim safe is an inclusive activity that can be adapted for children with special educational needs and or disabilities."
The Swim Safe sessions are open to children aged 7-14 who can swim at least 25 meters. Each hour long session will include safety advice from qualified lifeguards and up to 30 minutes in-water tuition with qualified swimming teachers.
