Queen Margaret's Road in Scarborough has reportedly been closed in both directions due to flooding. Other roads are also affected by standing water.
Callers to This Is The Coast have reported flood water on the B1261 between Irton and East Ayton and also on the A170 in various places including Snainton.
The Yorkshire Coast is under a Yellow Weather Warning for Rain. The warning is in force until 6:00am tomorrow (Friday 3rd November):
Periods of heavy rain associated with Storm Ciarán will affect parts of northeast England and eastern Scotland during Thursday and early Friday. Rainfall amounts are likely to reach 20-30 mm widely, with 40-60 mm accumulating over high ground, including the Cheviots, North Pennines and North York Moors. Strong easterly winds, becoming northerly by Friday morning, will accompany the rainfall, possibly exacerbating any impacts.
