Spa Orchestra Announce 2021 Summer Season in Scarborough

The Scarborough Spa Orchestra have announced details of their 2021 Summer season.

Subject to the Government’s restrictions being lifted in June as currently planned, the last remaining professional seaside Orchestra’s Summer season will run for 10 weeks from Monday 12 July 2021 until Thursday 16 September 2021.

They will perform 8 concerts per week-all featuring their unique blend of popular and light classical music.

Morning concerts will bring a musical start to the day outside in Scarborough Spa’s Suncourt from Sunday to Thursday with evening concerts taking place in The Grand Hall on Monday and Wednesday.

The Orchestra’s popular Teddy Bears’ Picnics concerts which introduce youngsters to the magic of music and musical instruments will now take place on Sunday afternoons at 2pm.

This year’s Summer season will see the Orchestra return to action after last year’s concerts were cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic-the first time in the 75 years since World War II, the Orchestra was unable to perform a Summer season.

Musical Director Paul Laidlaw who will once again be leading the ten-piece orchestra is looking forward to making up for lost time:

“This unique orchestra carries the name of Scarborough throughout the UK, and is truly legendary.

With staycations expected to be popular this year, hopefully more and more holiday-makers and lovers of good tunes will come and see us in action in the Spa Suncourt and Grand Hall venues.

All the musicians are looking forward to seeing old friends in the audience and to greeting new fans.”

Details of The Spa Orchestra’s Gala nights and ticketing details will be announced in due course.
