Anglo American’s community support programmes and the work of their foundation are continuing despite the scaling back of operations at the Woodsmith Mine, near Whitby.
The Achieve programme is funded by Anglo American and sees pupils receive mentoring alongside a programme of extra curricular activities, to boost their confidence and engagement with education.
Four of the schools affected by the trial scheme are on the Yorkshire Coast, including Scalby School.
