There will be line closures between Scarborough and Hull from 18:30 today (Feb 12th) to allow for electrical repair works.
The closure will affect routes between Sheffield / Hull and Scarborough, and also between York / Hull and Bridlington.
A problem with the line-side equipment between Hull and Scarborough means that from approximately 18:30 all lines will be closed at allow for repairs to be completed. Some services will be cancelled or revised.
Following a problem with the line-side equipment yesterday, Northern Powergrid are required to complete repairs overnight. As a result, the line between Scarborough and Hull will be closed from approximately 20:15.
From approximately 20:15 there will be no trains running between Hull and Scarborough.
Disruption will continue until the end of the day.
A normal service is expected to resume tomorrow.
The last train services to operate between Hull and Scarborough will be:
- 19:00 Scarborough to Hull
- 19:23 Hull to Scarborough
National Rail say that passengers can use their ticket at no extra cost on TransPennine Express services between York and Scarborough and betwen Leeds / Selby / Hull, at no extra cost.
Road transport will be operated by full sized coaches and run as follows:
Hull to Bridlington calling at all stations:
- 20:10 (Operated by Acklams)
- 21:10 (Operated by City Transport)
- 22:30 (Operated by City Transport)
Hull to Beverley calling at all stations:
- 23:30 (Operated by J&B)
Bridlington to Hull calling at all stations:
- 20:00 (Operated by City Transport)
- 21:00 (Operated by J&B)
- 22:00 (Operated by Acklams)
- 23:10 (Operated by City Transport)
Scarborough to Hull calling at all stations:
- 21:25 (Operated by City Transport)
Journey times may be extended by up to 60 minutes whilst travelling by road transport.
National Rail say:
"You may be entitled to compensation if you experience a delay in completing your journey today. Please keep your train ticket and make a note of your journey, as both will be required to support any claim."
