Proudfoot Supermarkets recently donated £1,000 to Scarborough Sea Cadets through their Making A Difference Locally Charity Fund Stronger Together initiative in partnership with Cadbury.
This donation will be used to fund and support their annual Summer Camp.
A Proudfoot statement said:
“Summer Camp for our Sea Cadets is an opportunity to learn new skills whilst enjoying the great outdoors, building friendships and most importantly being part of a team. Our Camp is entirely reliant on a team of volunteers who make the event possible. The valuable donation would be put towards refreshments and meals including breakfast, lunch and dinner for 60 plus cadets aged between 10 years and 18 years of age.
"This year camp will be set up at North Yorkshire Water Park over the August bank holiday weekend. It’s an amazing opportunity for all of the cadets who consider Summer Camp to be an annual treat as it’s something that they all very much look forward to.
"We as Leader and volunteers recognise this and strive to ensure we are and continue to be able to host such events which obviously come at a cost. The donations available would be put to the best possible use, in supporting our incredible cadets and allowing them to have these continued experiences which are both memorable and rewarding.”
