More details about the work required to repair the Football pitch at Scarborough Sports Village should be known next month.
In an update to the town council, North Yorkshire Councillor Rich Maw said soil sampling work has been carried out over recent weeks:
" I understand that technical work is ongoing in collaboration with Wilmar Dixon and other specialists. Recent activity includes additional boreholes and soil sampling. Council are awaiting analysis of these results, which will help finalize the solution, the results were expected and further details early next month.
"Yoshi Water is also addressing known blockages in their section of pipe work, which is a positive step forward."
The timescale for repairs to Scarborough Athletic's pitch at the Scarborough Sports village remain unchanged.
That's according to local Councillor Maw, who says he's been given assurances that technical work is ongoing and the commitment to have the ground repaired ahead of next season remain in place:
"While the process is clearly complex, it's important that clear updates are provided as soon as possible. I'd like to request that any confirmed timelines for completion be communicated publicly to support transparency and community. Understanding the return of the football to the pitch is something many in the community are looking forward to, and we all hope to see that happen as soon as possible.
"I have sought and I have received assurance that the previous assurances given about the timescales remain."
