The Seadogs have been looking for a striker for some time and the 33 year old Bennett has football league experience.
Boro have just released news of his arrival with this statement:
The 33 year old, 6’4” aggressive striker will be joining Boro following his departure from Scunthorpe United. The former EFL striker is a welcome boost to Jono's side for 2024/25. Welcome to Scarborough, Richie!
Bennett has played for Carlisle United, Stockport County and Hartlepool United during his career.
Last season he spent time out on loan from Scunthorpe United at fellow National League North side Southport.
The move is subject to National League and FA approval.
This evening, fans can renew their season passes or buy new standing season passes at the Victory Bar (at the stadium) between 5pm and 7pm.
