Thousands of runners will descend on Scarborough on Sunday for the McCain Yorkshire Coast 10k.
The annual event will see well over two thousand runners taking part in the main race as well as a 5K run and the fun runs.
Among the competitors will be runners from the Scarborough Sea Cadets.
Bob Smith from the unit, says they will be raising funds for their building repairs and also providing one of the water stations for runners.
The Sea Cadets are taking on the challenge to help raise funds for essential repairs to their Grade 2 listed building in the Old Town of Scarborough.
Sea Cadet staff, volunteers and a few cadets will be running in the Yorkshire Coast 10K. The 18 runners will be wearing bright orange t-shirts, bucket hats and "big smiles" as they take on the famous route from the Spa to the Sea Life Centre, back along the Marine Drive and Foreshore to triumphantly finish back at the Spa.
Chair of the group - Bob Smith - says they have a couple of aims.
The Sea Cadets have set up a LocalGiving page to help with their 10K fundraising, there are more details at https://localgiving.org/fundraising/YorkshireCoast10K/
