Schools in Scarborough are to receive more help tackling mental health issues.
The number of children and young people requiring support with mental health issues has increased significantly since the pandemic.
Dr Gill Kelly from North Yorkshire's Healthy Child Service says as part of the plan to deal with the increase, the Mental Health Schools Team in Scarborough is to be expanded.
North Yorkshire's Healthy Child team say a second School's mental health team is to be created in the town.
Dr Kelly says there has been a massive increase in demand for child mental health services over the last few years.
Emma Lonsdale from North Yorkshire Council's Healthy Child Service says the extra mental health team is not the only initiative being put in place in Scarborough.
