Scarborough Left Broken-Hearted On Valentine's Day

Boro went down 2-1 at home against league strugglers Farsley Celtic at the Flamingo Land Stadium last night.

Jono Greening admitted Scarborough "weren't at the races" in the first half but weren't helped by decisions by the referee, saying the game was possibly "too big for him".

Boro were struggling to string passes together at a very foggy Flamingo Lands Stadium, against a tough Farsley side who were on a high after their FA Trophy victory at Hungerford over the weekend.

The visitors took the lead through a deflected long range shot. Tom Allen claimed the goal.

It was 2-0 before half time with Luke Parkin curling a shot in from long range.

Boro boss Jono Greening made a triple substitution at half time, bringing on Ryan Watson, Ashley Jackson and Kieran Glynn.

The home side pulled a goal back through Ciaran McGuckin.

The striker had another great chance to equialise but missed.

At the other end, Farsley should have scored a third with Obaezounu missing an open goal from a few yards out.

Joe Cracknell made a series of great saves throughout the game to keep the visitors goal tally at 2.

Michael Coulson went close for Scarborough but Farsley held on for all three points.
