Plans to build a Drive-Through KFC Restaurant in Scarborough have been approved by planners.
The Restaurant will be on the site of the former Papas Fish and Chip restaurant at the Dunslow Road roundabout on the A64.There will also be a new Costa coffee shop.
The application was previously considered by the Planning Committee in July when it was deferred to allow further examination of the impact on the highway network, littering and anti-social behaviour.
Planners say those concerns have now been addressed and approval has been granted for the scheme to go ahead.
Two new single storey buildings are proposed both of which would be 'drive-through' establishments. The larger one would be located on the western side of the site and will be occupied by a hot food takeaway/restaurant (KFC). The smaller unit, to be used as a coffee shop, would be at the northern end of the site and closer to the Morrisons service road. Both units will share car parking with the existing McDonalds restaurant.
