A community transport scheme in Scarborough is seeking more drivers and assistants to help deal with an increase in demand for their services.
Scarborough Dial A Ride say they are having to turn passengers away as they don't have enough volunteers to meet the increasing demand.

The community transport scheme is appealing for more volunteers to come forwards.
Wilf is one of the existing volunteers and says it's an important service.
Scarborough Dial a Ride launched in 1983 and has over 45 volunteer drivers and travel assistants.
Their seven minibuses and four MPV cars have either hydraulic lifts or ramps as well as low steps and grab rails for ease of boarding.
Dial A Ride provides transport services for anyone aged over 60 years of age or people who have difficulty using other forms of transport, it can be used for anything to do with day-to-day living within their 10 mile service area. For example shopping, visiting friends or relatives, going to church; day centres; pubs and restaurants; leisure pursuits as well as keeping any sort of health related appointments. Dial A Ride can also be used to get to a place of work or to attend college and children with special needs can be taken to school or play-schemes.
Steve says the volunteer roles are suitable for a wide range of people.
