The winners of the Scarborough Chamber of Trade Christmas Window Competition have been announced.
The annual competition sees local retailers encouraged to put on a festive display in their shop windows.
The displays are then judged by a panel from the Chamber of Trade.
Awards are presented in a number of categories with this year's winners confirmed as...
- Large Store Winner : W Boyes and Co
- Small Independent Store Winner : Lilly's Treasures
The winners in the other categories were:
- Most Captivating Window Display : Electrodec Victoria Road
- Emporium Class. : Emjay's York Place
- Restaurant Class :Winking Willy's Sandside & Cockpit. Newborough
- Charity Shops : RSPCA. Aberdeen Walk
- Hairdressers : Headstart on Abeerdeen Walk and Pauls of Bar Street
- Watch and Jewellery Stores : CHR. Westborough
- Most Inspirational and Animated Window Display : The Art Room Falsgrave and Past Time Studio Eastborough
- The Exceptional Christmas Award went to the Brunswick Centre and Market Hall and Vaults
President of the Scarborough Chamber of Trade and Commerce, Janet Jefferson said:
"The standard of entries was once again excellent and we gave out in addition to main awards and Category Winners over 30 Gold,Silver Gilt and Silver Certificates, It was pleasing to see the York Place windows of the Brunswick Centre opened up and decorated and the Market Hall and Vaults was a total dream."
